If a few of them actually saw how the rituals were done (by video or CD-ROM) it seems that the number of practitioners could only increase. Whenever I have seen such accusations thrown about, they have clearly manifested Nietzsche's "threefold primeval blunder": evaluating other's actions with respect to the expected effect on ourselves, assuming that the anticipated effect is a conscious intention of the person, and finally ascribing that imaginary intention to them as a permanent feature of their personality. Still, I wish you the best in your crusade to keep "troublemakers" out of "Whiskey Rebellion Camp." UpdReq Phil - Actually, after decades of "doing it the hard way" (ie. reading MT&P and other primary Crowley sources) there are several Thelema 101 books out as of last year. Lon Duquette's book, Magick Of Thelema, is from Weiser, and rather the better of the two. It discusses the premises of the Law, and the rituals that AC devised to brings its energy into action on a magical level. Gerald Del Campo's book, New Aeon Magick, from Llewellyn, is in a simpler vein, less scholarly than Duquette's. It has gotten some flack, perhaps deservedly, for being overly simple, and for Gerald's sometime failures to warn you when he is delivering his own opinions (eg. the chapter on food, diet, and recycling, on which the author feels strongly) and when he summarizing more generally held understanding of Thelema. I like them both, but would recommend Duquette for a start. For the thoroughly crazed, the new edition of Book 4 (containing the two short works on Mysticism and Magick previously published as Book 4, plus Magick In Theory And Practice, plus Liber AL and extensive commentary) is now out from Weiser. At 805 pages, and 49.95 list price, it is a humongous gulp both as reading matter and in the pocket book, but as a critical edition, it is gonna be a standard for years to come. I did (this may be a result of having just turned 44 (g)) find the typeface a hair small, and insufficiently high in contrast for entirely easy reading, though I may just resent books that make me haul out my rarely needed reading glasses.
