But for you to go out of your way to snipe at the Temple of Set, which is not interested in you & has not bothered you, simply telegraphs - accurately or not - that you crave some kind of validation from it, and failing that want to get it out of the way (the rock on your highway) so that the absence of validation won't be around to irritate you. My suggestion - not meant sarcastically - is that you simply avoid the rock and continue on your chosen highway contentedly and productively. 201434369420143436942014343694201434369420143436942014343694718 From: Michael Aquino Area: Thelema To: Joseph Max 8 Nov 94 07:51:28 Subject: Re: SYNTHESIS AND EXPOSIT UpdReq JM> (and the crowd goes wild....) Remember what MH> Uncle Al says about doubt. And lust of result. AB>Are you speaking of a complete eradication of the Self? How is that AB>possible? What do you mean by death? All I was saying was that nobody can be entirely sure of our fates after our physical demise. There have been people who have had "Near-Death Experiences," but it is not clear whether the experience those people went through was truly death and revival from a dead state. Likewise, the "Magickal Memory" could be memory of real previous lives, or an adventure into Genetic Memory or the Collective Unconscious. There are always other explanations possible. I was just arguing for the kind of skepticism and scientific inquiry that Crowley himself advocated. Doubt is a good thing. "Convictions create convicts" -- R.A.W by way of the Discordian Society. I really don't know for sure what I mean by Death. Some of my experiences suggest that Death is an exit of one incarnation to be reborn in another incarnation. Some of my experiences suggest that the Ruach dissipates and the Neschamah returns back to Godhead/Dao/The Source. But we cannot know for sure. And I think that even spending a lot of time speculating on this sidetracks us from our real work in life: finding and doing our True Wills. I had a very strong conviction that I was a person who was close to Aleister Crowley in a previous life. This conviction really wound up becoming an obsession in every sense of the word, including the magickal/supernatural sense. I had to say "that's nice...a neat possibility but one can never be sure" then gently set it aside, if I was to keep my sanity intact. I hope this clears things up for you. * SLMR 2.1a * Warning: this is a lame attempt to write a clever tagline 201434369420143436942014343694201434369420143436942014343694718 From: Michelle Hass Area: Thelema To: Michael Aquino 9 Nov 94 11:19:06 Subject: Thelemic Order of the Go UpdReq MA>I had heard some years ago that Hyatt was trying to restart MA>the Golden Dawn as MA>such, and was working with Francis Regardie shortly after MA>FR retired to MA>Sedona. It does take its lineage from Regardie to Hyatt, and claims to initiate into the G.'.D.'. current along that lineage. It is also founded on a strong Thelemic foundation. I may have had personal problems with the order's current active head, but I believe them to have a valid claim on being both a Golden Dawn-current and Thelemic magickal order. I personally have chosen to work as a solitary, and feel most comfortable in that situation. However, if one is inclined to join a G.'.D.'.-current group, I still would suggest them over some of the other groups claiming that status.
