When you aren't wearing that jewelry you are personality A; when you are not you are personality B. Every time you find yourself, as Personality A, acting as Personality B, you should, according to Crowley, slice yourself on the arm with a razor. (Personally I found burning myself with a match works equally well for providing the negative reinforcement and doesn't leave scars). In this way you'll soon learn how to change your identity at will--and in doing so learn how much of what you call your "identity" is really just the force of habit which can be broken by training. Mary, Queen of Scots led a rebellion against England from a dark, filthy dungeon cell--I've always suspected she was one of the inspirations for Hannibal Lecter, but never asked Thomas Harris. I would also consider Ted Bundy to be a good example of a fairly refined serial killer. Also--did you ever stop to think that anybody who was as intelligent as Hannibal Lecter, M.D. probably _wouldn't_ get caught? There are plenty of "disposable" people out there--a killer could spend his entire life murdering bums and prostitutes and, provided he was able to dispose of their bodies, might never get caught. The problem is that everybody has the _right_ to vote but nobody wants to take the _responsibility_ of learning about what they're voting on. I was in Israel from August-December 1987--_every_ Israeli I met had a good grasp of politics and could discuss issues rationally and logically, with plenty of allusions to facts (of course, they all drew different conclusions from the facts, but that's another story). How much of American politics today is about facts? The Israelis knew how the transition from a socialist/protectionist economy to a free-market country with convertible currency (a changeover which hasn't taken place entirely yet) would affect them and knew the basic mechanics behind it. How many Americans know who John Maynard Keynes is, can describe what "trickle-down" or "supply-side" economics are, or understand what the Federal Reserve does? The democracy which our Founding Fathers envisioned worked well in ancient Greece, where a class of educated men could get together and make things work with only occasional flareups of irrationality and the _ostrakon_. In a large and generally undereducated society like our own, the only form of government which can work efficiently at all is a charismatic dictatorship. The survival of our democracy (such as it is) hinges on improving the average educational level of America. (Hmmmm....do you suppose perchance that some people _want_ to see uneducated Americans who will blindly follow????) Xeper and Remanifest Rakshasa aka Setian Kevin T. I have some thing to give the Temple that I hope will be worked upon and used to the better ment of all who study this. It is an ancient form of astrology that I have discovered. Since its discovery I have been looking for people who would help me research it and mold it into a perfect system. I look forward to your correspondence. I liked your poetry a great deal--it reminded me of Lovecraft's poetry at its best. I'm going to use this as an opening for my next ritual--I'll let you know the results then. I'm at present considering doing a rewrite of T.S. Eliot's _Waste Land_ (much in the same spirit that Ipsissimus Aquino rewrote _Paradise Lost_). The _Waste Land_ dealt with spiritual alienation in a world where Christianity had become obsolete and outmoded and proposed (in a later work, _The Hollow Men_) that the world would end "not with a bang, but with a whimper." My _Waste Land_ would use the structure of Eliot's poem; I would use classical allusions from various mythologies in the same format as he does. Unlike his work, though, my poem would be about the redemption of the new Aeon. I'll post my results on here as they come about--I've got many irons in the fire right now. (Only one possessing truly Satanic arrogance would think to rewrite T.S. Eliot, but, hey, humility's not one of my strong points ;)) Xeper and Remanifest Rakshasa aka Setian Kevin T. The former is one sin--the latter can encompass a whole host of problems. I also question whether Sodom and Gomorrah ever burned. Last I heard an archeological team digging in Israel had discovered the site of something they believed to be Sodom. There was evidence of the Babylonian orgies (wherein women prostituted themselves to strangers in religious fertility rites--very similar to modern fraternity parties, actually) and of infant sacrifice to Moloch. This is unpleasant--and it is possible they may even have tolerated homosexuality in the streets. Unfortunately, the archeologists found _no_ evidence of any widespread fires. The myth of Sodom and Gomorrah is just that, a myth; to me it is no more "true" than Homer's _Iliad_ or Sturrlson's _Prose Edda_. Both deal with real events--in both cases they have embellished the story-telling of centuries and produced something which is an entertaining and thought-provoking read, but which is not literally true in the sense that it's literally true that I weigh 190 lbs. or that I'm 5'10".
