Still can't quote on this board...but you mention the 
Inquisition...unfortunately some Protestants and Fundies reject that as 
evidence of "Xtian" violence...more recent examples would be the Salem Witch 
Trials, the entire Victorian era with the deflowering of pre-adolescent 
females, the KKK....any one have any to add....oh, did I previously mention 
the missionary effort to the Native Americans....probably...

       (quote from church court)  When they couldn't coerce me
       into giving them the baby the clergy went to Protective
       Services and accused me of abusing my older children....it
       gets worse but I think you've got the idea.....
.As a feminist,  I  *really*  appreciate your courage in talking
about these painful experiences.  Thanks for helping to expose the
Christian patriarchal "moralists".
