Well, that's true and not true, Nrrys. Being a Setian (as Diane is not), I can tell you that THIS Setian has not yet "found out" whether Set is real or not (objectively). I can tell you that he definitely seems necessary when you see that man is VERY different from other animals, and SOMETHING must have given humans the Gift of Consciousness. Other animals do not have this capability. We humans are the only being (apparently) to have suddenly (via the "missing link") become aware and Intelligent. This is why I believe Set must exist. As for other thoughtforms, including Satan (as the Church defines him) and all other neters, they are just that -- thoughtforms. These are my conclusions after much thought. DV>fear Satan). But the Christian "God", as seen by mainstream DV>Christians, is anti-magic(k)al. Magick is considered to be "of the DV>Devil". Therefore, the most powerful magic(k)al deity in our DV>culture is Satan. I have a different view than Diane's. I think that the most powerful magick is Setanic or Satanic because it comes from US rather than any "second source" diety. N> Great for helping someone break away from christianity, or to mess with N> some christians you REALLY don't like, or to add a little spice to a N> curse in general. NOT good for knowing your own TRUE N> WILL, healing, etc. I agree with you, here, Nrrys. To Setians, Satan is seen as a combination of Set and Har-Wer. He was useful only during the Age of Satan (1966-1976, I believe) to prepare us for the Aeon of Set. You may find a study of this transition most interesting. I agree though that for the most part, the general public aren't worth the time. There are however, a number of individuals that are interested in learning what 'True' Satanism is.
