Perhaps one of us should turn their copious spare time to typing it in? I've heard there was a sequence of "Missing Links" by someone else that were worth checking out, but I haven't seen any copies. 718499927771849992777184999277718499927771849992777184999277718 From: Tim Maroney Area: RPSTOVAL To: Gerald Del Campo 20 Apr 92 09:48:56 Subject: RE: Re: RE: THELEMA WITHOUT CHRISTIANITY > what do you think a world wherein Thelema is the principle > conduct would be like? To me, the question makes little sense. It's like asking what a world would be like where friendly user interfaces were the "principle conduct". Thelema neither bakes bread nor nourishes children. It is a technology for attaining unusual conditions of consciousness. How could it be the principle _anything_ of a viable socioeconomic order? Is, say, quantum chromodynamics to become the ruling principle of some new "aeon"? What would that even mean? 718499927771849992777184999277718499927771849992777184999277718 From: Max Delysid Area: RPSTOVAL To: Serpens 20 Apr 92 14:29:06 Subject: RE: Re: RE: THELEMA WITHOUT CHRISTIANITY In a message to Bobby Meizer written on Friday, April 17, 1992 at 19:06:55, Serpens writes: Ser> Apropos, sorta, of this, has anyone seen a satirical newsletter called Ser> the Broken Ser> Link. There were several different 'Missing Link' producers, but at least one issue was seen to appear out of Leroy's briefcase on one occasion when he was accompanying Lon to the Bay Area. Also, Alan Cabal is said to have been involved with at least one of them... 718499927771849992777184999277718499927771849992777184999277718 From: Frater Ehubi Area: RPSTOVAL To: Gerald Del Campo 20 Apr 92 21:27:12 Subject: Re: RE: RE: THELEMA WITHOUT CHR 93, Gerald and all... Gerald, you stated in a reply to the Timster that you feel Thelema is incompatible with dictatorship. While I agree with your other comments in that letter, I strongly disagree with this one. I think dictatorship is one of the most natural forms of government under the "lower" manifestation of Thelema, which approaches in the limit the law of the jungle. The few, proud, keen, etcetera shall be Kings; the slaves shall serve. Don't get me wrong -- this is not the *only* way things can turn out, nor is it the way I *want* them to turn out -- it is simply an alarmingly probable society given the morality of Liber AL (not that it isn't also empirically quite probable under Christianity...) Witness as evidence the organization of the only large organization officially practicing Thelema. The OTO is a monarchy, pure and simple. and while mechanisms are in place to help keep it a benevolent monarchy, such mechanisms have a sorry history indeed. I hope that our generation can help steer the world into a Thelemic society of mutual respect for rights and tolerance of diversity. I just don't think that is is inevitable, or even easy to accomplish. There are *many* ways to do Thelema! 93, Ehubi 718499927771849992777184999277718499927771849992777184999277718 From: Serpens Area: RPSTOVAL To: Tim Maroney 21 Apr 92 17:03:18 Subject: Re: RE: RE: THELEMA WITHOUT CHRISTIANITY Tim - Aha, I thougt the Missing Link reference was a joke. I'll ask my source of Broken Link is he has a line on the other. I thought it would appeal to you, if you'd run across it. And apropos of your reaction to it, I wondered from some turns of phrase if you HAD written it yourself (g). (Hmmm - now am I ballsy enough to type the sucker in...fortunately, Steven had only the one copy, so I don't have it at hand and can thus declare my testicular fortitude moot on the subject) Paul 718499927771849992777184999277718499927771849992777184999277718 From: Tony Iannotti Area: RPSTOVAL To: Max Delysid 22 Apr 92 22:12:12 Subject: RE: Re: RE: THELEMA WITH Sent UpdReq MD>this i have not seen, but i have quite a few issues of the Missing Link...
