To clarify how to use this: "What is your name:" guest y guest What is in the quotes is what the system here will ask, the part "guest y guest" is what you type. It just says you want to login with guest, answer yes that you're a guest, and the final guest is the password. Then hit enter a few times and go to the main menu, from there go to the file areas (f) and I'm sure you can figure it out from there. As always, this is up for file request here also, it's magic filename is "PGPWAVE" and you will received PGPW108A.ZIP Sorry for wasting bandwidth, but I don't think I made myself clear enough before. You have your message encrypted in 'armored' ASCII and written to a file MSG.TXT. When you want to put the message onto Netmail or I-net mail on real time, you make an ascii upload of MSG.TXT. You should be able to compose/respond on offline readers such as BlueWave, SLMR, Silver Xpress, etc. CF> Of course, I use an offline mailer, but that's for Echos like this. That should handle Netmail. But you also would have to access one of the nodes in SecureNet, since Fido apparently gets bent if they can't read your private mail.:-) ... So USE it! [grin] VH> Where is Ilegal ??, I live in Mexico which is my zone? Just to clarify, here is MY understanding of the legal issues regarding pgp... Prior to the first MIT release (i.e. 2.3a and before), there were questions whether or not it was legal to use pgp WITHIN the U.S. due to patents on the RSA algorithm, exclusively licensed to Public Key Partners). The patent claims only apply to the U.S., and are of no concern to anyone outside of the U.S. Since then, PGP has finally been legal to use in the U.S. without any question of patent infringement (for non-commercial use). Commercial users must still use the VIACRYPT version (due to copyrights, not patents), which uses the PKP version of the RSA routines (called RSAREF). All versions of PGP are illegal to export from the U.S., without approval from the appropriate authorities. PGP can be exported to Canadians, with the relatively easy filing of the proper papers FOR EACH EXPORT. I don't think munitions, such as encryption software, are covered by NAFTA, but I don't know, for sure. Canadians can export PGP, once it becomes "Publicly available". Outside of the U.S., the only concerns are local rules related to the use of encryption, such as in France, where it is illegal, without prior government approval. In short, 2.6.2, is legal, to use anywhere you can get it, provided local law doesn't make it illegal. Also, the direct answer to the second part of your question, is that Mexico is in Zone 4 (according to the headers on your message, as I received it.). {Insert standard disclaimer here, since I'm not a lawyer! i.e. my advice is worth what you're paying for it}.
