Is that so? I'd certainly like it, not just to add to my magic file list, ;) but also to USE. Have I missed something? BTW, a while back, while I was out-of-state, you wrote and said something about freqing my key, "once I'm back." Well, I have been for a while, but neglected to mention it. "Oops." It's much better crafted than most of these jokes, and they fail to let you know until toward the end, where it becomes a total parody of the FCC's Ham Radio liscensing regulations.... -Eric 201434369420143436942014343694201434369420143436942014343694718 From: gk pace Area: Public Key Encryption To: Tom Almy 16 Sep 94 16:10:36 Subject: Re: PGP 2.61 alternate and source UpdReq -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- In a message dated: 15 Sep 94, you were quoted as saying: TA> -=> Once upon a time, Christopher Baker said to All <=- TA> CB> once again, a bug fix for PGP is available while we wait for a fully TA> CB> functional MIT release. TA> OK, what's *wasn't* fixed in 2.61? ^^^^ The "official" release is "2.6.1", the Alternative is "2.61". It is all listed in the README.261 contained in PGP261AS.ZIP (the source code). One significant item is that PGP 2.6.1 claims to handle 2048 bit keys, but won't. I guess it is hard for those who use 2.6.1 to prove tho, since it won't generate a key larger than 1024 bits. PGP 2.61 (the alternative) will handle the larger keys, AND generate them. It is also issued for the OS2 platform as well as DOS, so those of us who use OS2 don't have to run it in a DOS session. I use it... but you make up your own mind... won't hurt my feelings if I'm the only one who does... I make up my mind based upon my personal study and testing of it... not how popular it is. -gk -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: 2.61 Comment: Fight to keep the Basic Human Right of Privacy! iQCVAwUBLnn7tY9JNB7uOPtBAQGb0wP/YYIAsuSxJHO3a+T/Ng9vgU/UUu1UoPrg N+dWXk7QtC0hxgrHFVjPa1PaU9dvalqomoP49yTzDySnwkkvcLOmpWXbF90ze0q/ QR2hHTwB0aFduP5TS9rHoRrkwo6PPHAhSa046OJTOp4N45QT1LdekREMjcje7FgJ RQGBmoaCXG8= =4NSC -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- 201434369420143436942014343694201434369420143436942014343694718 From: Charles Senescall Area: Public Key Encryption To: Jeff Hancock 18 Sep 94 18:48:00 Subject: There goes more freedom! Getting back to PGP...I am using PGP 2.3a and am not clear what version I should now use. I am located in Australia and would like to update to the latest version. Could someone please advise. In addition, has anyone on the east coast of Australia got the latest version available for freq? Jackson Harding if you are reading this perhaps you have it available. Is there anywhere in OZ from which I can download keys? I would also like to place my key on file for distribution; how do I do this. 201434369420143436942014343694201434369420143436942014343694718
