I met her (but did not have much chance to talk) when I saw Westgate on my trip to New Orleans a few weeks ago. The atmosphere she has created in the house is wonderful -- somehow without backing away from the horror and grisliness of death, she manages to evoke its positive side as a sacred passage as well. In a way it is almost a white-light view of the subject, but in fact she preserves its inherent grotesquery in an atmosphere of devotion. I also picked up a few books and works of art but I have not had a chance to read the former in any detail yet. They do appear to be well-written and well-produced from what I have seen so far. This is a great relief to me in my never-ending quest against the reduction of occultism to fanzine levels of quality! I didn't have the nerve to ask her about her name, which has a striking similarity to that of Laylah Waddell.... For some, undoubtedly bizarre, reason, I was flashing this morning on my status as an astro-dunce and its effects on interpreting my own personal chart, and I'm thinking maybe this ain't such a bad thing after all. IOW, I know enough general stuff so that I don't go "Huh??" when someone sez Sun in Scorp, Moon in Cap, Mercury in Scorp, etc., but I'm *not* real familiar with what "Astrologers Say"...so I'm guesing that the general, small amount of knowledge of planetary 'characteristics' combines with intuition and actually seems to give some pretty accurate pictures to me. Same would go for planets in the houses...just a general, one-liner about the particular House in question's area of influence and a bit of info about the planets would seem to be 'enough' to at least get going. Not that I'm gonna use it as an excuse to be lazy and not try to learn more...but for the moment at least, I ain't stressing on my astro-duncehood and think the intuitive boost I get from not knowing the 'proper interpretations' has been more help than hindrance. Uhh...just felt like letting you know that...LOL! ;> ttyl Love is the law, love under will. 201434369420143436942014343694201434369420143436942014343694718 From: Helrunar Area: THE_OASIS To: Skeptical Beliver 31 Mar 95 08:48:36 Subject: Re: HELLO UpdReq Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law.
