From the Washington Post (aka "The Pravda on the Potomac") Thursday, June 23, 1994 e.v. * * * * * * * * * VANDALISM IN VA. MAUSOLEUM SAID TO INDICATE SATANISM by Peter Y. Hong, Washington Post Staff Writer Police investigating vandalism at an Arlington County mausoleum have discovered dead cats, pentagrams, bloody handprints and other signs of Satanic worship, authorities said yesterday. Arlington police found the macabre scene at the Abbey Mausoleum, in the Henderson Hall Marine Base next to Arlington National Cemetary, last week after the site's caretaker reported that eight crypts had been tampered with. Two coffins had been opened, exposing remains, according to Arlington plice detective Stewart Chase. Chase said Satanic rites, random vandalism, or a search for valuables all are possible motives in the breakin. The remains of Satanic practices, including the dead cats, pentagrams and candles, appear to be several years old, Chase said. The marble-exterior mausoleum, built in 1927, fell into disrepair in the last 20 years, and has been broken into at least six times in the last 15 years, according to the site's trustee, Frank B. Tavenner. The mausoleum contains 300 crypts and 100 urns. [...] "Some sick-heads try to pull bodies out, there's nothing I can do," Tavenner said. [...] In addition to the open crypts discovered last week, vandals previously have emptied urns and mixed their contents, Chase said. The most notorious incident, according to Chase, occured about 15 years ago, when 45 corpses were decapitated and the skulls mounted on broomsticks, Chase said. * * * * * * * * * Love is the law, love under will. - CP ... the ceremony of the Death of Asar, so do thou bind together the words 201434369420143436942014343694201434369420143436942014343694718 From: Celtic Wolf Area: Night Side To: Paladin 23 Jun 94 00:36:00 Subject: Re: Children's Book UpdReq -=> Quoting Paladin to Celtic Wolf <=- CW> Bullshit. IMHO to say that the early Pa> witches "practitioners of folk magic" NEVER dealt with the negative Pa> forces of Magick is naive in the extreme. Working with the forces of chaos in magickal rites and sacrificing Christian babies to Satan are two completely different things. The Inquisition started with the Jews, moved to heretics, and finished by using charges of "Satanism" to kill anyone they so wished. Oh, and the sacrifing babies charge was used against the Jews and heretics, too. B*B Celtic Wolf Internet: celticwolf@aol.com ... Give me that old-time religion.
