MK> Seems like I recall reading here that Kenneth Grant's works MK> were being re-published and that a new book was MK> forthcoming. What's the status of this? Is the new book MK> out yet, and if so where and what's it's cost? Grant books currently in print from Skoob Esoterica (London): _Hidden_Lore_(previously the _Carfax_Monographs_) - $90 _Remembering_Aleister_Crowley_ - $60 _The_Magickal_Revival - $50 Their expressed intention is to reprint each book of the trilogies, _Hidden_God_ and _Cults_ being the next likely candidates after Hecate's_ Fountain_, which has been delayed due, I am told, to a breakdown of the presses they were using. Contrary to earlier reports, _Fountain_ does not contain the actual rituals used at the Nu-Isis Lodge, but does have very detailed anecdotal recensions of a number of the more spectacular Workings there performed, and a remarkable commentary on Liber AL from the particular perspective of the Nu-Isis Current, among other goodies. In its own way, it is as groundbreaking a work as _Nightside_ was. Cost, about $60. Magickal Childe, Abyss or Serpents are likely suppliers, when it's available, likely by year's end. Under pressure of Magickal need, I've acquired the Muller first editions, and paid collector's prices. They are available, if scarce and pricey. Unfortunately, Skoob apparently has no intention of reprinting Grants work on AO Spare, and the street price on that one is upwards of $300..... MC> Information, PLEASE! Will this be in their regular catalog MC> or is there a special ad out for it? How much are they MC> costing? The Equinox reprints will likely be in their next catalog, but they've been rumoured for a while now. Though the target delivery date was going to be in July, I have reliable info that this probably means around late August-early September, and they've already gone to the printers, so.... The set is hardbound, Volume I for $400, and the Blue for $75, available sometime after the set. There's also rumoured to be a soft- bound set available 'soon' from JD Holmes ($200-$275). Word is, that's what prompted Weiser to go for the hardbound, this year. About damned time too, since the older Weiser reprints are going for $1000 and up, and a first will run over $3000, for one in middling shape. If you're intent, Serpent's will take your order. Weiser's might, but their usual modus is just to send you a card when it's soup. I'd be a little surprised if this run went to more than a thousand, probably less, but there's got to be a pretty special market for Equinoctii. Until then, all of my dealings FA> with that book are down for now..... That includes going to FA> U.T.A. to find a copy! I am, however, soon to resume my FA> studies! Until then, take care and post on the subject! The reason standard banishing procedure doesn't work particularly well with the Olde Ones, seems to be this: Banishing in the GD mode, LBRP or Star Ruby, handles the 'Here and Now,' which might be fine but for the observed fact that an Olde One tends greatly to manifest _another_ time-space containment entirely, vis 'not in the spaces we know, but between them' and a temporal pulse not so much 'Now' but 'Then,' as in Aeons Past. A successful banishing in the GD sense in an essentially Negative action, clearing the 'Here and Now' for the Work at hand. This is EXACTLY the WRONG thing to do unless your Work is EVOKING an Olde One, and will rather call to furthur manifestation anyThing that may be already evoked, if That be an Olde One. What is needed is something much more along the lines of the LIRP or even SIRP, to re-affirm the 'Here and Now' and reduce the impingement from Outside. There are rites of daemonic exorcism passed in the traditions of the Nepalese Phurba Cult, which may themselves date back to Sumerian times, and have a common origin. My current, albeit limited and cautious, research is along these lines, and to date the results look very promising. Derleth was an idiot in attributing to Them an Elemental nature.... BTW, are you familiar with the Haye/Turner Booke? It's not an American edition, but British, and is the one referenced by Grant.... In Yog-Sothothe Neblod Zin ("in the hands of Yog-Sothoth", in Enochian), is a curious salutation to find in Lovecraft(_Dexter_Ward_.) Any idea where the Old Gentleman might have come across it? There's no mention in any of his published letters, that I know of, that might reflect any concious knowledge of Enochian ('nobloh zien' is, of course, from the First Key) although he does several times refer to 'Aklo' in such context that I am very inclined to regard that as the Lovecraftian equivalent.
