It's not just a link to Wicca, it's a link to many different
religious paths going from Confucianism to Islam. Each religion has
their own version of what we might otherwise refer to as the "Golden
rule" or the "Rede."

Actually, the quote can be dated back further than Augustine. As
mentioned above, a parallel occurs in the teachings of Confucius as
well.

I can somewhat understand the dislike of Saul of Tarsus... but I
never really have seen Augustine of Hippo elevated into that same
plane of extreme dislike. Of course it just may be my perspective.

Well, they do *sorta* work. "Long-life" bulbs work better, and the bulb
companies can charge a hell of a lot more for them.
