Re: Abortion
I'm an adopted child.  My birth-mom went through 23 years of pining for me
before I found her.  Her two children from her husband (I was out-of-wedlock)
had to compete with a phantom sibling that could never, ever do anything
wrong.  And the extended family held varying degrees of guilt, shame, and
contempt over the matter.  If I'd had a choice, no matter how much I love mom
and the rest of the family, I would have been born somewhere else and saved
them a life of misery.
That said, I am definitely "pro-choice", in the legal venue.  When a woman
seeks an abortion, it is nobody's business but hers why she is doing it.  To
stand around and interrogate her is to make a bad situation worse.
In the ethical venue, I believe in the most good for the most people, and
consider the unborn child a person.  Sometimes it is better not to be born
into a bad situation (regardless of your beliefs of reincarnation/afterlife).
 Sometimes it is better to be born.  Only the mother, with the help of a
supportive family hopefully, is in any position to make that decision.

Hi!
        This raises one problem I have with the whole "Ban violence on TV" 
problem....what is it, exactly are these parents telling their children? Are 
they stitting down with the kids and telling them that this is Fantasy, that 
it is not real, or are they simply using the TV as a cheap babysitter?
