I called the American Booksellers Association and was told that they hold workshops periodically over the year in various locations (I sent for a schedule). They're four day intensives on bookselling, and are supposed to be comprehensive enought to cover different specialty bookstores as well as used books. From the books available, I think I can pass on a general business course. What I would like to take is something that instructs about buying and selling and such... where do you go for the best deals (estate sales was mentioned to me by a friend), getting your original stock, pricing used books, buying books back, etc. I'd like to deal specifically with occult related books, religions, philosophies... things of that nature. This may get me into the realm of rare books which I'm told is a highly competative field... any word on that? I'd rather not get *too* involved in it because I'd like my books to be available to the average "person off the street." Thanks again for your feedback!
