From: The Hobbit Area: Mundane To: Jeffrey Dean Blessing 1 Aug 93 13:39:40 Subject: Arthurian legends/druids UpdReq -=> Quoting Jeffrey Dean Blessing to All <=- JDB> There is an informative book about Arthurian druidry called "the 21 JDB> Lessons of Merlyn". I quite enjoyed it. I haven't seen the book myself but when someone asked about it on the celtic echo it got fairly thoughly trashed. Apparently there are a number of glaring errors in it. Things that were pointed out: Druids using Pumpkins (a new world vine) as an ogham tree and a spell directing the worker to use pumpkin blossoms in october which is when they have fruit not flowers. Airmid, who is very knowledgeable about things Celtic, seems to think the book is basically a waste of money. The things in it may indeed work but they aren't Arthurian. ... I know that Fire Daughter speaks highly (snicker) of the way he teaches her what she is doing right and wrong. I haven't heard much about the Goddess though. If I lived closer I wouldn't mind helping, since one of the things you might be doing is my fault.
