       You have an interesting theory. And although I do not agree, you have 
made several valid points which are ignored in the pretext of "faith".  I 
believe however, that the human psyche needs to "belong" and to have 
"purpose".  Religion gives these less-motivated individuals a cause to 
beleive in, and therefore inspiration and motivation in life.
