You cannot let it freeze or get too warm. Ideal range is 50's to 60's. It needs some humidity too and will drop leaves if the air is too dry. Full sun is not recommended, about 50% to 80% shade is best. Watering is very important, it rains daily in this plants home. Its usually found in shaded streambeds with cold water and near 100% humidity. Regular misting is good. A bright bathroom might work for indoor growing. They want lots of root space too, the more the better. If its cramped it will limit the plants size. If you pot it, use a black, composty rich soil with 1/3 river sand. Feed it wih fish emulsion now and then. Basically what you would be trying to do is simulate a Mazatec Sierra forest streambed. How hard that is depends on were you live.
