JP> The Red Gum makes an excellent incense ingredient: it's JP> an amazing colour (really deep rich red, glows like JP> amber), and a very "upper register" aroma, though JP> definitely a bit fire-like. hmm..sounds really interesting! JP> Eucalypts really are packed with oil and resin, and the JP> Blue Mountains has hundreds of thousands of Eucalypt JP> trees. If you saw the film "Sirens", that was set in JP> the Blue Mountains, about 30 minutes away from where we we have alot of eucalyt's here, but i've never seen any resin from them. can you actually see it on the trees? TTYL! UU>You asked about alkaloid content and method of use. The Arundo UU>Donax contains nn-dmt (among other things) so, can I assume you UU>are studying the oral dmt plant medicines? If you already have UU>these plants then of course you will want info specific to them, UU>but, if you haven't yet acquired the plants, maybe you should UU>look to ones that are more available and have better quantity UU>estimates. Peganum Harmala and Desmanthus Illinoensis come to UU>mind. UU>Whats you actual situation? My situation is that I can forage for A. Donax, D. Ilinoiensis and D. Leptolobus. D. Leptolobus is said to have much more DMT than D. I. However, extraction seems to be difficult, and I had no success with the DI. I have collected a quantity of DL, but have not done anything with it yet. Since A. Donax roots are so much bigger than Desmanthus roots, I thought they might be a better source. I came across a journal article that tested Desmanthus Leptolobus and found that 8.5g root bark contained 120mg DMT. That should be enough for 6 smokeable doses. Have you experimented with the Desmanthus species? The latest JLF catalog list D. Leptolobus as a new entry. They sell 60g of roots for $18. I wonder how much of that is bark? I'd swag it at 10% bark, so that would be about 85mg DMT - if you can extract it all. Ethno-botanical expert Deep Black once posted here about an MAOI that makes DMT orally active at the 1mg level!!!, turning it into a psilocybin-like experience.
