The active components of Kava are known, but the name escapes me at the 
moment.  I will post it here when I have my references at hand.
I don't believe any laboratory analysis of C. zachatechici have been done.
If they have, I am unaware of them.
I found the resin much more potent than any extract of the plant I have
used.  I have done solvent extractions and I have prepared it in the time 
honored manner of chewing, etc.  Needless to say, a steaming cup of
the boiled, chewed root smells strongly of saliva.
