Another fairly common purpose is to tap into pre-existing energy systems in the environment. K> So, that's the run down on not just incense, but ALL Ritual K> paraphenalia. Just for starters, "ritual paraphenalia" can build up a "magick charge" turning it into what is oftne called a "talismman". Once this happens, the iten has some real power of it's own in addition to anything it does for your emotional state. Yeah, I understand that. Most of those boards "do nothing". For the ones that do, it's anyone's guess as to what will happen. FWIW I got my Ouija board at "Toy's R Us". It was real easy to "activate", but then again I'm fairly comfortable working magick. Of course, I did end up fighting a spirit with a real attitude problem, but it's not like I didn't forsee this as a possibility. It's the true "newbes" (the ones that can't effectively protect themselves if something goes wrong) that I feel sorry for. Oh yeah, my Ouija usually sit's in the basement with binding spells on it (ie it's not going to do diddly-squat until/unless I decide to get it "out of mothballs" as they say).
