R> She must have something to do with love-hungry youth. :) Uh.. maybe... needless to say she is "The Mother of the Moon" and a Banshee and Satan's wife, and of course many other roles through time. JM> Anyway, what is sigil magick, after all? CP> That's a little different, somehow (though perhaps only so in my CP> mind). A sigil seems to me closer to a logo than a painting. The same criticism leveled at much of Abstract Art, when you think about it, eh? When I devise a sigil, I'm trying to come up with a pictoral representation of a magical intent. The more "attractive" or artistically pleasing I make the sigil, the more effective it seems to be. I add all sorts of culiques and little maltese crosses and the like to the basic line drawing to make it look more Goetic "occult"-like. Cliche'? Perhaps, but making it impress your subconsciuous is what's important, and since I'm an unfortunate victim of Hollywood horror movie conditioning, I may as well put it to use! But I think pictoral spell-weaving is something that has hardly been explored beyond Spares work, and deserves the attention of someone with the requisite artistic talent! - J:.M:.555 ... UpdReq Re: Chaos 2/ Greetings, I was reading your post concerning Pete Carrolls work and just want to comment that I found his concepts erroneous and contridictory. When I saw Pete do the lecture thing (this is right after Liber Null) he was arguing that the Morphic Field studies released Magickians from the need to deal with propablility. i have a friend who is a graduate Ph.D from Columbia U. and when he read Part one of Liber Chaos he "this is the worst presented material I've ever read concerning a supposed theory concerning Physics and the mystical realms of magic". Not that he beleives in Magic per say but he just didn't get the point. I had shown him a video from long ago when Pete was espousing his "we can do anything Magickly and suceed. The Morphic feild studies prove that." Asher (Dr. Shor) kept asking me during the video and then many times later, "Where did thid guy get his degrees?" Good question. Pete Carroll calls himself a scientist but admits he has no Doctorate in any of the sciences. H wo't say if he has any academic qualifications AT ALL. In one book ritual is completely archiac and unnecessary, in Liber Kaos it's very necessary. Wored 201434369420143436942014343694201434369420143436942014343694718
