There is a good sized Pagan community here in Az, but I have no transportation, so I end up staying home a lot. (Smile) This will change soon, as we will move closer to people. I'm pretty open-minded about the Craft itself, and always interested in how things work. I tend to think that anything COULD be possible..I'm no universal arbitrator of right and wrong ways of believing/doing things. I'm actually sort of tempted to start a thread here, with a question regarding reality (or the perception thereof). Here's the thought: Can belief invoke the existance of a thing? Say, a Protector-spirit for a group...can such a being be created from the massed belief of the people involved? From everything I've seen so far, the answer is yes. If one believes strongly enough in something, it can become real. (I think this idea also appeared in "Real Magick" by PEI Bonewits). What do you think? Walk in the Light! On another note think of all the scarry movies and books that have a large following...can these things be made real too? ... Anyway, whatever that person's reason for posting such a message, I certainly would like to see for starters that "he" would clean up his language. I mean, I'm an ex-sailor and can cuss with the worst, but I DO try to maintain a civil tongue -- especially in public. One little quote I picked up in my travels is: "When you're green you grow, when you're ripe you rot." Pretty much to the point, I'd say. Oh, yeah, as soon as FINALS are over, I can take it easy for a little while. Yea! ;) Blessed Be! I feel there is a need for such a system in Victoria. The local text file BBS, containing well over 6,000 text files, doesn't do a good enough job for getting such files in. I've seen the Mysteria file list, and I'm hoping to set up a text file trading deal with the SysOp of that board (is he reading this?). I sent a box of disks to one of the organizations requesting the Equinox text files, but they never arrived. Would it be possible (PLEASE :) to set up a deal with you to copy them for me? I will send disks, postage and a few dollars extra for the time and energy involved to get them, as well as some file lists? As for BBS systems, don't get me wrong. John here on Nuit Net does an excellent job, unfortunately he doesn't have enough drive space. What I am hoping to do is have these message bases, alternative echo's, and UUCP's Alt.Magick on the system. I will be carrying a wide range of text files, not only Wicca based, but also some Christianity, UFO's, Astral Projection, Meditation, Buddism and associated isms, the list is huge! I'll first be running it on this 386 setup, but as time progresses I'll be running it on a second system, with 14.4K HST support, and other things. Any text files ARE NEEDED and appreciated, especially those Equinox. Question: WOuld I have to get ahold of the main OTO branch to release Book 4 or Magick in Theory and Practice in Electronic Form? 93!phil!93 718499927771849992777184999277718499927771849992777184999277718 From: Darrin Hyrup Area: MagickNet To: Philip Cavanagh 13 May 92 00:26:18 Subject: Re: Equinox in Book Form UpdReq In a message dated 12 May 92 15:38:58, Philip Cavanagh wrote: PC> As for BBS systems, don't get me wrong. Maybe John needs some donations from his users to get a bigger HD? :) If John is willing, I can put the Equinox's on hold for him to call in and pick up on his next poll, and then pass them on to you from there. Have him leave me email if he wants to do that. Likewise, I could feed him the additional echos (and ALT.MAGICK if he has UUCP software as well), for him to pass on to you if he wishes. Otherwise, you could call here for them (if you have 9600 it makes it nice), but you can probably find a closer UUCP feed. PC> Question: Would I have to get ahold of the main OTO branch to release PC> Book 4 or Magick in Theory and Practice in Electronic Form? I don't think so, since Magick in Theory and Practice is available in electronic form already. Likewise as above, if John wouldn't mind picking it up, I can put it on hold here for him. I have plenty of excerpts from Book 4 in electronic form, but I don't remember seeing a compendium version in electronic form. But I'll check my archives again to be sure. You might ask Tony Iannotti at Baphonet if he has it. (He has all of these, and more, available on Baphonet if you don't mind calling New York. ) 93, Darrin 718499927771849992777184999277718499927771849992777184999277718 From: Grendel Area: MagickNet To: Paul Hume 14 May 92 08:48:00 Subject: Equinox in Book Form UpdReq > Most, if not all, of the Equinox (Vol I) is in electronic form, on > BaphoNet, in New York.
