Terminology is fun. Yes, "grounding" is what we were talking about, but as I understand it, most modern magicians talk of "grounding" as something done /after/ magical work, to recover one's balance, and "centering" (or something similar) as that which is done /before/ magical work, to build one's capability. The point I was making was that I see my methods as being purely empowering and activating. The discussion seemed to be favoring those who see "static magicicity" built up around the magician during magical Work and needing a grounding discharge. I view my activities more as the recharging of a dynamo which should always be ready to produce the needed charge. Balanone PP ... Why is the beach magical at night? One of her professors, an aged woman, replied, "We're all thespians, dear. That's what we're here for!" And on that note.... There is a group of actors who do incredible work here in SD. First of all, I presume you know that any flat-file database will do this if you take th time to set up the fields you want. Second, any home inventory program will also work. There are also some for catalogging records and tapes, or vcr tapes, etc., that would work. Anyway, the following companies carry shareware programs: G.E.B. Software, 3719 B-2 Wilson Rd. #652, Bakersfield, CA 93309 805/832-7685 No book catalog pgm listed, but plenty of databases, home inventories, movie and music catalog programs. Disks $1.49/ea. Public Brand Software, P.O. Box 51315, Indpls, IN 46251 1-800-426-3475. In addition to above, carries "RJB Personal Librarian: Database for book collections. Publisher, location, title, author, purchase price, subject codes, "have read" flag, value, etc. Also makes index cards. Easy to use." Comes with a knife database and one for vacuum tubes on same disk (#HC20.0) Disks $5.00/ea. The Software Labs, 3767 Overland Ave #112-115, Los Angeles, CA 90034 213/559-5456. Among other databases, has both "Professional Librarian" (#1029), and "Book Minder" (#1038) which sounds like the best of the lot, though I haven't tried any of them firsthand. I have bought from these people before, and never had any problems whatsoever. Disks $3.69/ea. If *I* were making the choice, I'd probably try "Book Minder". 418 ... Ra! Ra! Ra!
