 Yep, also known as the "Gateless Gate" (Mu-mon mon, or something like
 that, I think?) The Blue Cliff Records is similar, but fuller. Each
 chapter deals with a particular person: a little bio, an anecdote
 illustrating their 'style', a comment on them from the original
 authors, etc. The 'fencing match' thing is pretty accurate. Same thing
 in _Saying of Layman P'ang_ -- I love when he gets into one of those
 conversations, then says "Just now blew it by trying too hard" about
 himself.

 KB> well, i just bought causoban this weekend and whilst perusing it found
