From: Josh Norton Area: ENOCHIAN To: Ar Aakhu-T 15 May 94 13:04:00 Subject: Enochian 101 UpdReq Thus said Ar Aakhu-t to Josh Norton concerning Enochian 101: AA> Thanks- your comments are helpful. Frankly, I've AA> never been into doing magick for the sake of producing AA> physical effects either. Exploration, on the other hand, AA> does make sense, even if it's for the sake of cheap thrills AA> :) But seriously, can you say what sorts of things you've AA> encountered? I realize this may be a case of "If you want AA> to understand it, go check it out for yourself". Like I said, your results are at least partially dependent on your own nature, plus whatever "magickal destiny" you set up for this lifetime. There's lots of working examples of my explorations floating around the net, or available from Black Moon Publishing. You'd probably get a better idea of what I've encountered by reading a few of these than from what little I can encapsulate in a net-message. I just sent a couple of recent ones to Grendel, so they'll probably show up in the files area of your BBS soon. These are "An Enochian Macrocosmic Ritual" and "Contacting Extraterrestrial Forces Using the Lotus of the Temple". Each has extensive selections from the magickal records of my use of the techniques. Earlier stuff is on Arena of Anon, Baphonet, and maybe Sacred Grove. "Touring the Earth Tablet" is the magickal record of some explorations of the "Kerubic" angels of said Tablet, using the G.D. pyramid technique. "The Book of the Seniors" shows the results of a more free- form series of invocations of the Seniors of that Tablet, and shows sort of totally unexpected stuff one might get. ... AA> Pardon me if this seems overly gunshy, but I have heard more AA> anecdotes about people blowing up while working with AA> Enochian than any other system I can think of. Do you AA> think this is the case? If so, why? In my own experience, the primary dangers in Enochian work are stress- related physical and mental problems. Contact with these forces puts a LOT more stress on your nervous system than is immediately apparent to your conscious mind. The symptoms are much like those you get from doing methedrine continuously for a week or so -- nervous exhaustion, lowered immune response, inability to concentrate, flights of ideas, paranoia. This stress seems to be inherent in the way the system is constructed, and so is not completely avoidable. As an example of what can happen, I caught mononucleosis as a direct result of overdoing it with these powers. The accompanying mental effects were bad enough that I had to stop doing any sort of magick for half a year -- I was burned out. This being the case, it is best to pace yourself carefully. Allow a couple of days between invocations for the energies to "soak in" to your being, and for the excess to dissipate. At intervals, take a month off from the work and concentrate on some more natural sorts of magick -- say, planetary or sephirotic invocations -- to ground yourself and get your nervous system re-aligned. And while I got a lot of milage out of combining invocations with marijuana, in retrospect I'd have to say that it was probably a mistake to do so. Stay away from any other drugs while using the Calls. (Caffeine is OK -- I know how Seattlites love coffee. ) And regular physical exercise is a good idea, too. "Wisdom says: be strong!
