Gray (c)1986 FANTASY by Alernon A jagged streak of flashing light breaks the grey-black stormy night. The howl of the wind and deep rumbling thunder, eerie music in the night. The rattle of rain on the window pane and crackling log in the fireplace beat a staccato rhythm for dancing tongues of fire. Soaring red flames and curling grey smoke make the fancy run wild. The crescendos in Nature's song create weird patterns of light; sharp jazzing flashes that rise to the tops of Heaven and crash to the depths of Hell. The storm subsides and the song is ended with rays of flashing gold In the Eastern sky. TWO WORLDS PASSED by Alernon Two worlds have passed From out of the unknown. Each rose to pass its time Then back to its nowhere. In each the flames blazed high. The last a zenith reached; A rhythmic throbbing flash That shattered the pale dawn. The light has faded, the worlds Must race their whirling paths. The pair of pearl-like globes Are lost in mist. Two worlds have passed. The wind is cool And time is swift. ........from R.M.P.J. 8/86
