What the Apostles say about Jesus

.    Thomas called Jesus his Lord and his God.  If Jesus was just a
man, and he was simply totally faithful to God, He would have scolded
Thomas or at least told him not to call Him God because Thomas would
be guilty of idolatry.  BUT Jesus didn't do either one.  Jesus was
happy with Thomas because he finally believed that Jesus was God
Almighty.  Thomas was one of His apostles.  Don't you think Thomas
would know if Jesus was God or not.
.    Paul said Jesus was "in the form of God," and "thought it not
robbery to be equal with God (Philippians 2:6)."  Jesus didn't think
He was insulting God by saying He was God.  Why?  Jesus was God.  Paul
said Jesus is the "blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and
Lord of lords (I Timothy 6:15)."  These terms only fit God Almighty. 
Paul also knew Jesus was God.
.    Luke brought out the fact that Jesus was God in Luke 5:16-26. 
Jesus told the man his sins were forgiven, but "the Scribes and the
Pharisees began to reason, saying, Who is this which speaketh
blasphemies?  Who can forgive sins, but God alone (v.21)?"  The
Scribes and Pharisees were the experts of the Law (of Moses).  They
knew what Jesus was saying.  Jesus was either blaspheming or He really
was God.  However they didn't want to admit His true identity; they
thought He was blaspheming.  Mark also tells us the same thing in Mark
2:1-12 (verse 7).
.    John was the apostle who had the most to say about Jesus being
God.  In fact, in the first verse of his book, he spelled it out, "In
the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word
was God."  "All things were made by him; and without him was not any
thing made that was made (1:3)."  This verse says Jesus is the
Creator.  If I listed all the verses where John called Jesus God, I
would make this little note longer than I care to.  Nevertheless John
knew Jesus was God.
.    Peter called Jesus "our Lord and Saviour" (II Peter 1:11).  In
Isaiah 43:10,11,15, Isaiah said besides God almighty there is NO other
Savior or God.  If Peter was right, which he should be after all he
was one of Jesus' apostles, Jesus is our Lord and Savior, and
therefore God.
.    The writer of Hebrews had some interesting things to say about
Jesus.  In Heb. 1:6, God told His angels to WORSHIP Jesus.  In Heb.
1:8-12, God (the Father) called Jesus (the Son) God, "But unto the Son
he [the Father] saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a
scepter of righteousness is the scepter of thy kingdom.  Thou hast
loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God,
hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.  And,
Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth;
and the heavens are the works of thine hands:  They shall perish; but
thou remainest; and they all shall wax old as doth a garment;  And as
a vesture shalt thou fold them up, and they shall be changed: but thou
art the same, and thy years shall not fail."  In Heb. 13:8, the writer
says, "Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and for ever." 
.    All these people knew Jesus is God.  Of these, Matthew, Mark,
Thomas, John, Paul, and Peter were Jesus' apostles.  If one is honest
with himself, he has to admit the Bible says Jesus is God.  However
it's his choice whether he wants to accept Jesus as his Lord, Savior,
and God.
