Yeah, too bad he didn't have an heir. Better one like him than a petty tyrant like Newt Gingrich or a simpleton like Bill Clinton. Marking my calendar accordingly. Funny, it's also the anniversary of the commencement of my Magickal Record. ;) 93! --.\\<-H-- michelle.hass@ledge.com Also reachable at 1:102/943 Fidonet * SLMR 2.1a * Huh huh huh...she said "93." Michelle Hass here. I have lost contact with a very dear friend and sister, Sophia (Larabell) Rochlin. She moved away from the Los Angeles area and somehow or another we lost touch. I miss her terribly. She taught me more about the real spirit of Thelema than just about anyone else I have come in contact with. Understanding the need for discretion, I suggest Fidonet netmail to Michelle Hass at 1:102/943 or Internet email at michelle.hass@ledge.com. Vibration: Always hard to try and diddle with over modem. SOme folks go for deep, as deep as possible without constricting the throat, getting as much chest resonance into it as possible. Some go for head tones (Kraig recommends them, as I recall). Some go for mask/nasal overtone, like Asian Buddhist chant. Dunno what to tell you - the real trick, it seems to me, beyond the vocal mechanic used to produce a sound you can feel (which differs for each magician according to how his/her resonance system is put together) is to pronounce the words internally as well as externally - with as much energy as possible (this does not mean loud - frag, this is difficult to explain). Try this... Sit or stand comfortably. Breathe in deep but without letting the muscles of chest or throat tighten up (this may be difficult if you've never had any singing training). Pronounce the tones until you find a pitch that makes your head and chest and arms, at least, tingle. Now, once you get that, then keep pronouncing the sound but silently (not whispered - I mean silently as you breathe deeply and slowly) but get the same sensation you got when bellowing/humming/singing/buzzing the audible sounds. Play with that for a bit, if you like. JN> Reports of my death were greatly exaggerated. (big belly laugh) Glad to hear it! I know you've moved on to other things but... Had lunch today with someone I've know for almost 3 years but just found out today he's been working on a biography of Frater Achad for the last 20 years. Small world ain't it? He's got a few holes in his timeline. Perhaps you could fill in some of them? What he did when he was in Chicago? What he did from the time he was born until the time he hooked up with Crowley? The time period between 1926 to 1935? The date of his death? Regards, Fir 201434369420143436942014343694201434369420143436942014343694718
