I knew I forgot something...just looked at the current form (it's in the Camp-Oasis-Lodge Master's Handbook) to start a Camp, and quote therefrom, herewith, henceforth, etcetera: Top Box - Proposed Name (give two choices) Middle Box - Official Mailing Address "Although two or three founding members are recommended only one member in good standing is required to establish a Camp. A Charter ti Initiate is recommended but not essential. Camp Masters must be at least Io. Please list your founding members below" Lower Box: Room for signatures, asking position (Master, Secretary, etc. or leave blank), Full Name, Degree, and if Chartered to Initiate for each. "Please describe the purpose of this Camp (eg. ability to perform initiations, geographical representation, special functions, special interests, etc.). Attach additional sheets if necessary." As you'll recall, Tim, Josh Gordon was a one-man Camp in his capacity as sysop of a BBS devoted to Thelemic subjects - the specific purpose is (or w then?) more key, it seems to me watching the process from outside the Senate, than the numbers. UpdReq Tim - 93. You are quite right, of course (and having been out through that kind of mill, in a good position to know, and I forget if I ever mentioned how glad I am that that farrago came to a happy conclusion). Any community sufficiently large is going to have people who abuse the sanction process in place, whatever it may be - from simply getting everybody in the community to dislike person X by spreading gossip and slander, to invoking whatever judicial process exists falsely. And anyone who tries half hard can usually set it up so that if it backfires, one can proclaim with injured innocence that he didn't know, and is delighted that justice has prevailed while hugging the black bile of thwarted malice to his heart. The damage the villian takes in the process is cold comfort for the object of the false accusation, generally (sometimes they self-destruct quite satisfactorily, and provide a pleasant riverbank venue). Like your observations on morality over on the internet, no matter how one likes the notion of government by law, it always ends up being the people who administer it, but the due process can be cosntructed to minimize abuses (at least theoretically). Crowley had a low-middle-high justice notion, tinged I suspect by the tradition of "10 of the best in the headmaster's study," and the Order needs, in my view, to grow past that. But as a subculture, there are other issues - publicizing OTO "judicial" profess could be construed as slander, whether the individual is "guilty" or not. In this society, that's an invite to a lawsuit - however that may appear as poetic justice in our case (g), given the Order's care of its own rep. Any system of rules, no matter how robust, can break down if pushed for fault - law presumes good will (within limits) on the part of those it governs...hmm, strike that, most bodies of law seem to have a good dose of Calvinism in them, and presume both ill-will and no maturity whatsoever on the part of the populace. OK, rewrite it as "Thelemic" law should fly on a higher standard (oh sheesh) and assume good will (literally). The trick is to build from that paradigm without the wide-eyed noncritical acceptance of every claim that comes down the pike that lends itself to false witness. I am looking for information, suggestions, ideas, for a Thelemic wedding ceremony. I know it sounds kind of odd, but what can I say-"Do What Thou Wilt". Well anyway- I've been told that no "ceremony" exsists and I've heard of several weddings that took place kind of as a Gnostic Mass. I am basically just fishing around for thoughts and ideas and to see what is out there, if anything. Thanks. Blessed Be & 93! Rain Bird 201434369420143436942014343694201434369420143436942014343694718
