Maybe it's a Hebrew demonization of Ishtar, along the lines of what they did with her under the name of Ashtoreth -- i.e., changing her from a female god into a male demon. ... Sometimes you find one for that price, but more often you pay over a hundred for one. I paid 150 for the last one I bought, but that was more to float a friend than "get it off the streets" ..... ;-) 201434369420143436942014343694201434369420143436942014343694718 From: Paul Hume Area: Thelema To: Andy Bender 25 Aug 94 12:28:12 Subject: Ashtar? Well, one could certainly get into some discussions (or arguments, on alt.magick) on particular points Motta (or AC, for that matter) made in that book, and while my copy has acquired several layers of marginal notes made by me over the years (nigh on 20, by now), I'm not really into the CoP thang. Not because of the Comment, of course, but because I don't find it particularly furthering. When my "Boss" wants me to know something, "He" usually does a pretty good job of letting me know. But overall, we agree: Motta, when he was "on," made some insightful points. When he wasn't... [shrug] Much like Crowley. Or anyone else, I s'pose. Na> I'm with you though, I certainly wouldn't do it. Mind you, that's not to say that I haven't printed out my own copy of AL, with the old and new comments, plus my own copious footnotes (156 of them, to be exact -- interesting "coincidence")...
