Much of what you ascribe to the character of Horus more properly belongs to Osiris. Much of what you ascribe to Set, I see as part of Heru-Ra-Ha. Aquarius, despite its nature, is not a true dual sign. It is not a fiery sign. Horus as RHK is not fiery but airy, as is Aquarius. Ra Hoor Khuit means "Ra as Horus of the Two Horizons" and therefor relates to the elements of Air (East, Sunrise) and Water (West, Sunset). Aquarius is the watery part of air. It is ruled not by Mars, but by Uranus, another glyph for "force and fire". If I were to pick a planet to represent the predictions of AL, it would be Uranus, not Mars. The use of Isis, too, is outdated unless building a formula based on accumulation of Aeonic Forces. For this Aeon, I would use either Babalon or Nuit, depending on the formula and the force being represented. Thus, one formula to replace your Isis, Horus, Set, Thoth (how did He get in here?) might be Hadit, Babalon, Horus, Nuit. Perhaps if "the rituals of the old time are black" then we have no need to try and kludge INRI-IAO-LUX to modernize it, being based as it is on the dying god formula. The Child is coming of age: he needs no formulae. "Abrogate are all rituals, all ordeals, all words and signs." As He matures, he will learn to take his place in the Company of the Gods (Paut Neteru). "Ra, Heru-khuti, pa hun neteri, ua heh." "Ra, Hoor-Khuit, the boy mighty, heir of eternity." -The Book of the Dead, Appendix to plate I. * BWave/QWK v0.96 * RAAS CHRISTEOS PIR FIFALZ MANIN. 718499927771849992777184999277718499927771849992777184999277718 From: Vitriol Area: Thelema To: All 7 Aug 92 08:07:16 Subject: Latin Translation UpdReq Any of you Latin scholars able to give me a translation for the following verses? They come from an alchemical drawing by Basil Valentine: ABSO IAMSUPH COGOR INTERIRE NATUS SUM EX HERMOGENE HYPERION ELEGIT ME The second looks like "I am born of Androgeny" (Lit. Hermogeny, as in Hermaphrodite? Or perhaps a reference to Mercury?) The Third is "Hyperion praises (? that's not quite it -- praises would be `laudet') me." The first I can't make out. There's also some Hebrew that I can't make out, both because of no diacriticals and because of the artist's handwriting. Looks like: [symbol of the Sun] Kaph (or Beth?) Lamed Kaph Shin Beth (? looks like a Kaph with a tail coming off lower right) Ayin. KLKShBO? [symbol of the Moon] Resh (? shorter than the next character, and not a Yod) Resh Tav (? looks like a Cheth with a tail coming off lower right) Resh. RRThR? [symbol of Mercury] Kaph Resh Daleth (or Resh?) Kaph. KRDK? [in center] Teth Ayin Beth (very clearly a Beth, and nothing like the questionable character above) Cheth. TOBCh? The figure is listed as the Tenth of Basil Valentine's Twelve Keys. My copy is in Alchemy, The Ancient Science published as part of a series on "The Supernatural" by Danbury Press, where it is printed upside down on page 111. I'm about 60 percent of the way through _Revival_ at the moment, putting in about 2-3 pages a day; his irregular Use of capitalized Letters is Slowing me Down. It seems to run about a thousand characters per page, so I figure the completed file will be about 120k - 150k. I've got several large fragments of _Anatomy_ on disk, but I'm debating whether it would be easier to try and assemble them, or just go back and type the whole thing from scratch.
