I also like looking at the various myths of the divine and immortal beings
in light of Zelazny's books such as Mahasamatman, Lord of Light, etc.
I once had a vision in which each so-called God was made up synergistically
of a number of human incarnations who were each a part and the whole of
that God ("Every man and every woman is a star.") I "was" Lucifer, and I
and another who was Mercury (? or Hermes? or Anubis? Couldn't remember 
afterwards.) met Christ in an inn. Mercury and I were laughing at him 
behind his back, and referred to him (amongst ourselves) as "The Peevish 
One," which he was.

 Just a nit: Mephistopheles was the one who said to Faust "Why this is hell, 
nor am I out of it. Thinkest thou that I, who saw the face of God and not 
tormented with ten thousand hells at being now denied it?" or something like 
it.
 There is a Judaic tradition that birth in this plane is a death in the 
"celestial" - and vice-versa.  Isaac Bashevis Singer captured its essence in 
the short story Yachid And Yechidah.

Interesting..I've been wondering how to get lucid dreams..all my life I
