I had a fun summer, running around Out West, missed the ENTIRE Impulse Murder Season here in NYC, just as I planned. It is weird, though, how you miss New York. I started to get VERY twitchy after about six weeks. San Jose was a pleasant surprise, I never gave that town much thought before, it really is quite cute, I found several very appealing restaurants. I especially recommend the Alligator Gumbo and the Blackened Fish at LOUISIANA, right across from the Fairmont on First Street. The steak & eggs at ORIGINAL JOE'S is expensive, and worth it, terrific stuff, a heart attack on a plate, but so what? But San Jose felt, well, too safe. All that lush vegetation and those Addams Family Victorians in their shabby-genteel disrepair... I just KNEW that Frank Booth was tooling around those shadow-dappled streets somewhere... Luckily for both of us, our paths did not cross. Hey, check out THE LIST OF SEVEN, by Mark Frost, co-creator of TWIN PEAKS. It's out in paperback, it's GREAT! Ta-ta for now... 201434369420143436942014343694201434369420143436942014343694718
