There's no need to go howling for my blood (yet :)). At least I didn't jump in screaming, "I know the ToS sacrifices newborn humans by the light of the full moon, and don't bother to deny it, either!". I was just curious. ------------------ ender@brewich.com (Nicholas Carter) Origin: The Brewers' Witch BBS -- Houston, TX -- +1 713 272 7350 3 lines 201434369420143436942014343694201434369420143436942014343694718 From: Creeping Death Area: Base of Set To: Lost Boy 22 Aug 94 21:19:00 Subject: Re: (gasp!)Oklahoma? CD> you justa raver, or are you a gothic, or vampire that goes there? Well, I'm most definantly NOT a raver, some might consider me a gothic, and there's no such things as vampires....*evil fang-bearing grin* -=< Lost Boy >=- 201434369420143436942014343694201434369420143436942014343694718 From: Charles Nemo Area: Base of Set To: Deep Black 23 Aug 94 10:35:44 Subject: Warnke et al Sent UpdReq DB> I just finished _Selling Satan_, the expose of Mike Warnke done by DB> the same folks who released the original DB> information a year or more ago. DB> _Selling Satan; the tragic history of Mike Warnke_ DB> Mike Hertenstein and Jon Trott DB> Cornerstone Press DB> ISBN 0-940895-07-2 I agree! I also read the original _Cornerstone_ article and others exposing Lauren Stratford and other phony SRA ("Satanic Ritual Abuse") scaremongers. _Cornerstone_ is the only xtian 'zine to which I subscribe. As to why Warnke pulled his nasty scam, one can speculate on greed for money and/or fame, mental illness, etc. Regardless of the sick motive(s), the damage done by him and others is incalculable. One need only read publications from the False Memory Syndrome Foundation (phone 215/387-1865 in Philadelphia) to be deeply saddened by the widespread misery fostered by SRA scaremongering. If you want another heavy dose of agony, read Lawrence Wright's _Remembering Satan_, published earlier this year by Knopf. It's the amazing account of a sheriff's deputy in Olympia, Washington, accused in 1988 of abusing his daughters. He confessed under highly suggestive interrogation (aided by a fundamentalist preacher) to implausible Satanic crimes. The book is an expansion of a two-part series in May, 1993 issues of _The New Yorker_. Highly recommended! 201434369420143436942014343694201434369420143436942014343694718
