UpdReq Dear Mystic: "Xeper" is not Latin, it is the Egyptian word for "To Become." When a Setian says "Xeper and Remanifest" he means "become a better entity and Remanifest yourself as a higher being through your transformation." I was raised Catholic--I think the Catholic emphasis on mysticism and on logical thought ala Aquinas (and their brave attempts to find some common ground between the two) helped me to become an occultist--I would guess that many other occultists came from Catholic backgrounds as well, but I'm not sure. Your point about many occult organizations seeming to exist only to bash Christianity is well-taken also. This was the trap which destroyed the original Church of Satan. Their "anti-Christianity was by definition limited. The Setians have striven to produce a positive "high Satanism" which offers more than a mere negation of Christianity. I think they have succeeded admirably; you would have to look at their material and judge for yourself. But yes...many occultists live to bash Xians. I used to...now I think of it as whipping a dead horse. Xeper, Remanifest and good luck with your recovery! Rakshasa (a recovering alcoholic) aka Setian Kevin T. Se) Interesting perspective there, Rakshasa (regarding my Se) statement on closeted fag-bashers). Well...I'm trying to think of a response here. As to "born straight," all I can say is "I wasn't." I can remember being bisexual for as long as I can remember...if I'm a freak of nature, I'm a very common freak. And my perspective on fag-bashers is not just mine; talk to any psychologist. If you are interested in exploring your own sexuality (which, I suspect, is the reason for your interest in homosexuality), I might suggest that you admit to yourself that that is what you are trying to do. I would tell you that being interested in homosexuality, being curious about it, or even having homosexual desires, does not make one a homosexual. It makes one a typical human being. Rec'd UpdReq Thanks Diane...really good stuff. Infact I'm gonna need some time to digest it all. -> Could you please tell us more about the Masons' "Luciferian 'light' -> oriented theology"? Who and what do the Masons believe "Lucifer" -> is? Do you recommend any books where I can read about this? Well, in my studies, and in my limited experiance as a mason (10 or so years ago) I began to study some of the Masonic rituals. Duncan's Ritual of Masonry is REAL close to the actual thing. Last I saw it was still in print. Go to a metro public library. Look under "freemasonry". (I could get my "tounge cut-out and my body placed dead my the shore of the sea where the Tide ebs and flows twice dailey for telling you that")) but it's a very good review of Masonic Ritual's from Entered Apprentice to Master Mason. The Illuninati and Crowleys stuff, anlong with a bunch of other 1700's stuff was used to develope the tradition. All of these seem to source themselves in post rennisance interest, first in aincient Greek culture (Italian Rennisance) and later British interest in reviews of Egyption archeology (1700-1800). THe overall interest in these things as I recall gave much to the guys at the beginning of the 19th century. And it was at that time that Masonry really boomed. First amoung the higher socio-economic gentility, later to all. (Yes it was around back with Geo Washington and John ADAMS, that was the "first wave" so to speak. Anyway, the mythographers, and the students of religion classify the Egyption sourced "light oriented" theology as Luciferian Doctrine. Lucifer meaning light. KJV/OT BIBLE refernces abound. (This is where some Christian fringe groups like Jehovah's Wittness and Morman's get the Satan/Lucifer or Michael as Brother of Christ. Christ was called "Star of the MOrning" and Lucifer "Son of Light" or "Lightbearer" Anyway...I'm doing all this from vauge memory, so you all who know this stuff feel free to interject. In Masonic Ritual, the new guy get's Hoodwinked, and led into the "temple". Then after some memorized mumbo (originally Latin...now a modified OLD-English), he gets his hood-wink removed as he is viewing the EASTERN light source (i think). Anyway...then (i think) he get's hood winked agian, and after he learns his lines he gets initiated to next degree, makes more promises, gets to see more light ect...each time a different "chair" located in a differnt location North/South/East/West of the temple (based on Soloman's temple) speaks to him imparting the "ways" of the degree. Usualy, highly symbolic moralisms with much devotion to the organization and the "principals" of the mason. Thanks for your insight.... I tend to agree with much of what you said "theologically" and...since nobody's asking my beliefs I won't toss them out...but I think that: -> Satan, to me, is not "the counterpart of Christ". Satan is not a -> rebel against "God"; rather, Christianity is a rebellion against -> reality. I agree, and think that is exactly what it was supposed to be in the grand sceem of things. Peace.... mk 718499927771849992777184999277718499927771849992777184999277718
