UpdReq -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- --====-- JS> You can send Internet messages through Fidonet. Send mail with the JS> "TO" field "UUCP", set the Fidonet address to an Internet gateway, and JS> make the first line of the message "To: " followed by the Internet JS> address. Make sure you skip a line, and then start your message. GT> Thanks muchly. Just out of curiousity, what's the reverse path GT> (Internet--->Fido) like? I'm a little fuzzy on that, but I think the Internet machine sending the mail would query the head of the Fidonet.ORG machine to see what Internet address to send it to. The Fidonet.ORG machine would respond with the closest Internet/Fidonet gateway to the destination. Thus, mail to john.schofield@f903.n102.z1.fidonet.org comes to me through 102/851, the Internet gate in my net, rather than through 1:1/31, the central Internet gateway. Merry Christmas! To permanently revoke your own key, issuing a key compromise certificate: pgp -kd your_userid To disable or reenable a public key on your own public key ring: pgp -kd userid Note from the help it says (under _YOUR_ userid) : Permanently You should have backed up your keyring first, I hope you did. Else, look around for a .BAK file, and see if there still is one... You need the .BAK for both the pubring and the secring. The last thing you _can_ do is to make use of your revoke cert - it's always good to change to a new key ever so now and then...
