     Sure! It's fall, there's far more nighttime available now to be doing 
Night_Side-ish things in, and everyone's out doing those things. :)
     For example, I'm sure the last couple of weeks in October were packed 
with activity relating to Samhain and Halloween (which I consider two 
separate holidays).
     Actually, what the hell, I think I'll post that up as a discussion topic.

Subject: Samhain and halloween                  UpdReq 

Hey, All--
     Submitted for your discussion and comment, the following:
     Halloween and Samhain are *not* the same holiday. 
     Halloween is an American (and maybe other places, as well) secular 
holiday, having two parts: a children's end (rapidly dying off!) and an 
adults' end.
     The children's activity consists of wearing costumes and 
trick-or-treating on Oct. 31, which just happens to coincide with Samhain. 
There may also be school activities, if the fundies haven't banned them yet.
     The adults' end, OTOH, consists of parties and revelry and spooky 
what-not, and falls on *the Friday or Saturday nearest to Samhain*, rather 
than specifically on the 31st.
     Samhain, of course, is a NeoPagan (and Satanic) religious holy day 
consisting of rites to venerate the dead, celebrate the turning of the Wheel, 
etc.
     IMHO, the terms are no longer interchangeable (which I was taught they 
were when I was entering Paganism), and there's no reason why someone can't 
attend and celebrate *both* days (unless the 31st is a Fri or Sat that year!).
     Comments? (Sorry if this seemed obvious to some, but I hope it's a new 
idea for others.)

Well why arn't you out doing some of the "Night_Side-ish" things???  Or
just causing chaos???  ;) ...Yea but Samhain and Halloween was almost
two months ago...Might be 2 months ago already...Don't keep track of the
dates anymore...Oh well.
