Sure. It's June 11-12 at the LAX Hilton Towers - 5711 W. Century Blvd at the L.A. airport. There will be special guests and film previews of Wes Craven's Nightmare on Elm Street 7, John Carpenter's In The Mouth of Madness and The Mask, H.P. Lovecraft's Lurking Fear, Interview With The Vampire, Mary Shelly's Frankenstein and Darkman 2. Sam Irvin (Director of Oblivion), Courtney Joyner (Director of Lurking Fear) and Frank Darabont (Director of a new King flick) will be on hand to discuss their films. The third annual Fango Chainsaw Awards will take place, as well as a magic show by Industrial Light and Magic's Clint Goldman, a classic film fest, charity horror auction, and costume contest. Current "Extra-Special" guests who will be on hand to chat with and get autographs from are Tim Thomerson (Jack Deth of the Trancers series), Kenneth Tobey (1950's horror hero star of The Thing), Beverly Garland (1950's horror heroine), Kevin Vanhentenryck (Star of Basket Case, who will be performing with his band) and the main reason I decided to go, Clive Barker. My Co-SysOp and I went to Fango's Weekend of Horrors in Dallas last November and had a blast. The entire thing is set up like a big convention, with a room for film previews, a room for the classic film fest, a room where the guests speak, and a LARGE room for horror dealers. We each managed to find some real "hard to find" horror movies, books and props. The L.A. convention is supposed to be 'the big one' for the year, so we're going. -=Sinistar=- 201434369420143436942014343694201434369420143436942014343694718 From: Kayla Block Area: Night Side To: The Sinistar 16 Apr 94 16:16:40 Subject: Re: Fangoria Convention UpdReq Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law. hi sinistar, (or should that be 'the sinistar'?) Lovecraft's TS> Lurking Fear, Interview With The Vampire, Mary sounds really fun! is there a contact phone number for it? (i hope i'll be here.) speaking of lovecraft, i don't know if you follow the necronomicon echo at all, but a friend of mine knows someone who produces porno films. one of their upcoming shoots will be a porno movie loosely (very loosely) based on lovecraft. the 3 male characters are named 'charles', 'dexter', and 'ward'! of course, they conjure up the devil through sex magick rituals. };-] i have seen a copy of the script and it looks pretty funny. but, last i heard, the film was going through substantial rewrites because it was deemed to violent by somebody or another. Kool! I think I'll plan to go. Want to meet somewhere? Is there a place to leave messages at the convention? Also, what is the advantage of $35 "reserved" tickets, and where do I call to get them? 201434369420143436942014343694201434369420143436942014343694718
