(jeez, do i sound old, yet!?) far as i know, that, M> i won't ask you for your age, but when was the time of your 'goth days ? uh, let's see...probably from about '83ish until around '87, though i was still going to goth clubs occassionally until around '89. haven't been to one at all probably since ''91 or so, (and that was only because there was a band playing that i wanted to go see). M> how is it now in america been goth, how was it like years ago?? it's very young now. most of the goth kids are teenagers. they still look similar to how they used to look. most of them strike me as being really unhappy and depressed, but i don't know if that's actually true. M> everywhere in germany i take a close look, there are M> just a few of 'em, most are just listening to EBM, M> wearing black leather, but they are not interested in M> some form of community .... everything is going down what is EBM? i'm not sure if i ever felt much of a sense of community within the goth club scene. though i had my group of friends, in general, i think the sccene was a bit nihilistic. the greatest sense of community that i ever felt within a particular club sub-culture was during the late '80's with the acid house club scene. it reminded me of how i imagine the early hippy scene in the late '60's might have felt. not only was there a sense of people being supportive of each other, but an entire underground economy, (t-shirts, jewelry, clothing, etc,) built up around the scene. i really miss those days. now that scene has become full of gang bangers, and violence. i've wondered if it's because the drugs have changed. people were doing psychedelics back in the early house scene, and now it seems like pcp and methamphetamine have become the drugs of choice. i don't go out much anymore, (at least not to clubs), since being at the scene of a shooting a few years ago. 93, ---kayla 201434369420143436942014343694201434369420143436942014343694718
