The Mullers I found came from England, and carried $100+ tags (my copy of _Nightside_ ran $175, and was pre-owned by Francis Perry; it came without a dust jacket, so I put it in a trimmed _Cultes_des_Ghoules_ wrapper from Chaosium...) If the books weren't so useful, and the information so otherwise unavailable, the cost would be more odious than it is; the cost of Working without benefit of Grant's research would likely be somewhat higher, however, so I don't complain _too_ loudly. I'll post as soon as I know when _Hecate_ is here. In addition to Serpent's Occult, Cursive Serpent Productions recently offered the Weiser edition of _Magickal_Revival_, and a first of _Outside_the_Circles_of_Time, each for $55, which was very reasonable, indeed (though I think I paid something like $25 for _Circles_ when it first came out.) First New Falcon and now >Black Moon! Is Bate Cabal still an operating unit? Are >they still publishing the Cincinatti Journal of Ceremonial >Magick? Or, are the Archives their main concern now? bate cabal hasn't been an operating unit for many years now, mostly because the people involved no longer live in continguous areas. It never was a real organization in any case -- just a bunch of people with an interest in writing about magick. The last I'd heard, the Journal will still be published at irregular intervals, minus the "Cincinnati" in the title. The Archives are still running as well. As for their noise about copyright infingement, they may have a point, depending on exactly what materials you wanted to post to the board. Black Moon owns the copyright on the Journal, and they still make money selling back issues, so posting excerpts could conceivably hurt their sales. Remember, they're a low-budget operation where every penny counts. They rarely make a profit on their projects. Perhaps you might get them to relent by offering to post their Archives catalog and order form in the BBS as well. I have all of it except the last two listings in a database somewhere, and could convert it over to a text file easily enough. As for documents from the Archives, the original authors retain the copy rights for nearly all of those, and have given Black Moon permission to reproduce them. This permission does NOT extend to those who purchase the documents. Black Moon could quite fairly say that they are protecting their author's interests. It's far too easy for someone to hack the copyright notices and author's name out of an electronic document, or to steal parts of it. In that case, I suggest you contact the authors directly and ask for written permission to upload their stuff. I'd bet that many of them would be happy to see wider distribution of their works. I certainly wouldn't mind, myself. * SLMR 2.1a * Follow a Paranoid 718499927771849992777184999277718499927771849992777184999277718 From: Amazon Lil Area: Night Side To: Frater Q.A.A. 4 Jul 92 21:49:34 Subject: Assisstance required UpdReq Hoe ill mannered of BlackMoon!
