Well, I've no idea how slow it was back then, I've only been a PODs Sysop since '91...a relative newcomer in that respect although this system has [in various hardware configurations] been up since '85. It started on an S100-CP/m-Z80/32K platform and continues to mutate. With any luck I hope [intially under Linux] to integrate My BBS addiction with my packet-radio [tcp/ip & ax.25] habit and my true NEED for a slip or ppp account somewhere. I dream of starting a comunity net here someday but have to educate the unwashed masses first...plenty of out of work loggers who might haven't caused irreversable meth-related damage to their ability to learn new skills.
