COLORADO Area: Mundane To: all 14 Aug 94 10:39:00 Subject: final report UpdReq 07-30-1994 At the end of May 1994, we took action to call for community support for religous and cultural plurality and diversity. This call was prompted by published accounts of the imminent arrival of the Coalition On Revival (COR) and reports to us from the community that Pat Robertson was coming to Colorado Springs with the Christian Coalition to "rally the troops". To our perceptions, the confluence of the two events could create a situation with volatile potential. With little time to respond, we acted. Subsequent research into the situation by a large number of Colorado Springs area citizens and organizations has established that: 1) COR has not gained the ability to establish it's "Kingdom College" in the Colorado Springs area this fiscal year, but anticipates establishing themselves in Calendar Year 1995; 2) Transcript searches of the "700 Club" television broadcast, the alleged source of Mr. Robertson's statement, have failed to substantiate the allegation. Indications are that a trip by Mr. Robertson and the Christian Coalition, specifically targeting the non-Christian community will not happen. This outcome is considered very desirable by W.A.R.D. and other organizations in the Springs region. Life has continued here, with some interesting effects. The call for joint effort did indeed reach the world community. Aid was pledged and received from as far away as Australia and Sweden. The response within the Colorado Springs area was even more dramatic. Literally thousands of people responded and the vast majority of those responding were those following the Christian path. Imagine, the Springs metro area has approximately 400,000 residents. In an area that size, the aid of 20,000+ people was pledged and received. The reports of vandalism against followers of minority religions suddenly stopped. Those who profess to be aware of the astral plane indicate that the great astral turmoil within the city was calmed. Many have reported that a pressure on people had lifted, allowing them to think clearly and calmly for the first time in many months. Little if any of this effect can be documented for scientific proof. Yet many of the residents of this mountain city are greatful for the help of the world spiritual community. The eclectic community of Colorado Springs thanks all who helped, directly or otherwise, and send wishes and hopes that the rest of the world receive these benefits as well. Congratulations, you've proven that we can work together. Blessings to you all! ___ * WaveRdr 1.10 [NR] * UNREGISTERED EVALUATION COPY 201434369420143436942014343694201434369420143436942014343694718 From: Fade Area: Mundane To: Peter Blood 12 Aug 94 23:43:10 Subject: Re: Live and let live, in ha UpdReq A> happened to you?
