What can you tell me about it besides the fact that it's the name of one of the 3 kings in the birth of Christ mythology. Thank you, Fir 201434369420143436942014343694201434369420143436942014343694718 From: David Arnold Area: Mundane To: Melizande 15 Feb 94 18:27:12 Subject: Tell me why.... Why should I have a right > to participate in a system which I wouldn't lift a finger to defend? i don't vote because i don't want to take part in the system i disagree with. and also because it's pretty much useless since whoever is elected will be a geek that doesn't represent me. i don't believe change comes about by working within the same damaged system. change comes when realizing the system is no longer working and starting another one in the alternative. but i still give my explanation as an argument for my position in the hopes that others may understand and get the idea. doing something i believe in is one thing for myself. doing it where i can be observed is ego gratifying, though kinda scary at times since the attacks can be nasty. david 201434369420143436942014343694201434369420143436942014343694718 From: Farrell McGovern Area: Mundane To: Julian 15 Feb 94 13:56:04 Subject: Metaphysical UpdReq On Jan 27 00:06 94, Julian of 93:9706/5 wrote: FM->> GG> I wish you would tell the people posting in FM->> GG> Metaphysical this. J> How do you feel about this? Highly variable. Gaea *does* have a tremendous capacity for self-healing, but by that *I* mean that whether humanity lives on or not doesn't matter a great deal to her, in an objective sense. She'd be sad, of course, but Earth herself will do just fine, thank you very much. I tend to think in terms of geological time, and humanity (for that matter, Mammalia) has just not been around all that long; the dinosaurs were around a lot longer and we all know what happened to them. .However, by the same token, I agree completely that there is very little justification for damaging our ecosystems. Unfortunately we're coming to the point of poisoning ourselves through sheer population pressure, like the plankton in a red tide, and I tend to be very pessimistic for the long run. That do--gotta go, time's up, more later. Mel 201434369420143436942014343694201434369420143436942014343694718
