You asked me where I came from. Well from sunny & snowy Germany the origin of many good philosophers & jesters. Actually I don't feel any strong ties to any country or any group. I'm here now 9 years but there was no homesickness or urge to go back so far. BTW do you get the new PODS Soultravel yet in ACT, I'm sure you would like it. Wind can be effective, but suffers greatly from the "not made here" syndrome...There are safe, effective tech for this use...and it is Canadian too. It is what is know as the "eggbeater" design. It is fairly quiet, and can reside on a roof. Since there is no "propeller", there is no slice&dice problem. It handles gusts of winds quite nicely, since it the "blades" are fairly elastic, and change shape depending on how fast the wind is blowing. In many ways, it all comes down to money. Gigadollar Oil firms have too much invested in fossil fuels, and it will take another oil embargo to make us wake up to the fact that we are too reliant on fuels that may last only another 20-30 years. One thing that really annoys me is the whole NIMBY philosophy...I hate to tell these people, but this PLANET is our back yard...and we have to deal more with the source of our problems rather than trying to cope with effects...treat the dis-ease, not the symptoms! WE NEED SPACE COLONIZATION TO SAVE THE PLANET! Putting all our eggs in one basket is a good way to break some eggs. If we don't have a functioning orbital/lunar civilization in the next 50, I believe that we may slip into another "Dark Ages" that will make the last one look like a slight shadow...since in that "Dark Age" the Roman Catholic Church didn't have access to nuclear wepeans, along with just about any one/country with a spare $100 million to blow on one. ttyl Farrell 718499927771849992777184999277718499927771849992777184999277718 From: Rose Dawn Area: Mundane To: Ed Tillman 19 Aug 93 08:48:56 Subject: Re: MONTEL WILLIAMS UpdReq > seen or read the "Law Enforcement Guide to Wicca?" I could try to get you one if you like I've heard of this, and other, law enforcement protocols. Have you ever heard of a guide (for Wicca or any non-mainstream religion) with guidelines for dealing with the press? I've noticed several people complaining that they had less than positive experience with journalists who had appeared to be friendly and open-minded until the articles appeared. I have several ideas myself, but wondered if anyone had compiled something similar already. 718499927771849992777184999277718499927771849992777184999277718 From: Ismark Area: Mundane To: Kettlingurr 20 Aug 93 05:57:00 Subject: Re: ON TALIESIN UpdReq In a message dated 08-09-93 KETTLINGURR wrote to ISMARK: K> Well, Phug wanted to know more about Druidic practices, and I think K> Taliesin is tired of people asking him about that....... if you have K> any questions for him, don't hesitate to ask. Do you know that I didn't even want to go into this bookshop initially and worse I didn't even have time to go there. Just this vague idea, hmmm let's have a look whether the latest NEXUS magazine is out already. The 2nd trigger was if your partner wouldn't have picked this book on magic, I would've never started talking & thus never found out who you are. An interesting video I saw recently "Grand Canyon" with Steve Martin is full of this little chances which bring people together or apart. This was the best film I saw within a year. It should be still in recent or new releases in case you are a video fan. I can't say I am one, because often I don't watch for a whole week & rather work on the creation of reality myself :) Please do me a favour and leave me a note in this echo when you come to Parramatta again, I would like to have a cup of tea with you. If you have any questions in the meantime my current study subjects are: Gnosis Mysticism,Ecstasy Egyptian Initiation Rites Astrology with a Jungian touch. Chaos Magic Interdimensional communication & time Besides all these, I'm continuously collecting material on alternative healing & alt.technology, conspiracy theories and finally everything to do with humour, a subject I would like to write a book on in a couple of years when I'm hopefully a bit happier with the coherency of my collected material on this laughter inducing topic. ||||| Catch'ya _(o) (o)_ (_ | | _) <| |> \_/ Eulenspygel ...
