Ofcourse you can make your own mixture, but to help a little: - Absynth (artemisiaabsynthium); puts good dreamghosts/deities. - Camomile (matricaria reculita); makes calm and brings soft colors. - Aaron's rod (verbascum thapsus); calls the Power of the universe. - Achillea millefolium; brings general strength. - Leaves of roses; brings inner-vibrations and love-energy. - Melisse (Melissa officinalis) brings calmness and rest. This are plants that are quite common in Europe, I don't know if they're available in Australia, Canada or the USA, but if not, undoubtfully there are good alternatives. Make from cotton or silk a kissen, leave one side open and put the mixed and cutted plants in that kissen. Close also the fourth side. If you can't sleep that quick, use for the kissen a violet color; violet is calming. (Keep the kissen rather thin, you can lay it on your usual kissen). You can make with textile paint your personal symbols on it which you're relating with good and nice dreams. Make the kissen as nice as you like, use your fantasy. In a Ritual you can consecrate the kissen to your dreamdeities or whatever god/goddess/deity you like. Before you'll going to use it, put pen and paper near you, so you can write the dreams you remember immediately after awakening. (Meditating your dreams can be very helpfull to discover a new key to yourself). There's no need only to use it at night; if you have/make time for a bit daydreaming, the kissen also can be very helpfull. Any other suggestions to make the dreamkissen better are welcome ofcourse. Henry Waxman (D-Calif.), responding to RJR Tobacco Co. chairman James Johnston's assertion that there are risks associated with consuming many products, including Twinkies, warm milk and cola. THE WEEK IN DEATH (April 15-April 21) 26 UN relief workers. Died when U.S. jets mistakenly shot down their helicopter which was travelling through the no-fly zone in northern Iraq. The father of one of the 15 Americans on board said that no blame should be fixed, and he's right, but that doesn't mean efforts shouldn't be made to determine why it happened and make sure it doesn't happen yet again. Many military engagements, particularly aerial operations, play out too fast for humans to comprehend. Combatants have to rely on dozens of radars, sensors, and imagers to tell them what is going on. Reacting too slowly is not a good thing. On top of that, it is hard to present incoming data in a manner that can be quickly assimilated. That's what happened when a U.S. Navy ship downed a commercial airliner in the Gulf a few years back -- the jet didn't respond quickly enough, no one could determine exactly what it was, and if my choice as a captain of that ship is fire or die, the choice an easy one. It's truly astounding that more mistakes like that aren't made. The recent destruction of the UN helicopter was not during a battle, however, and that is very troubling. Also, these craft are supposed to be equipped with Identify Friend/Foe modules, which are supposed to send out identifying signals. Did everyone have one? Were they on? Were they working? SELOMETSI BAHOLO, (NA) Deputy Premier of Lesotho. Shot by soldiers who mutineed after the government announced plans to investigate a battle that erupted last January between rival factions of the army. RALPH ELLISON (80), author. His one and only published work of fiction is ``Invisible Man,'' which won the National Book Award in 1953. In the story of a young man dealing with racism, Ellison created a singular metaphor for disenfranchisement, in prose that occasionally transcends print to become the verbal equivalent of jazz. In 1966 he was 350 pages into a second novel when he lost the manuscript in a fire. He began rewriting it in the early '70s, and his publisher says that Ellison may have been near the completion of it. PAMELA JACKSON (86), one of the Mitford sisters, subjects of the poetry of JOHN BETJEMAN. He described her as ``gentle Pamela, most rural of them all.'' FULGENCIO GARCIA (GARCIETA) LOPEZ (79), artist. Created the Lladro line of porcelain sculptures. ROBERT OSCAR PETERSON (78), restaurateur. One of the first to set up a drive-in restaurant -- Topsy's in 1941. In 1950, he founded Jack in the Box. Okay, okay, okay, drive-ins are as American as apple pie, okay, but we agree with JOE PESCI in ``Lethal Weapon II:'' ``Never go to the drive-in window. You wanna know why you never go to the drive-in window? Because they FUCK YOU. And they get away with it because by the time you've found out that THEY'VE FUCKED YOU, you're 10 miles away.'' PAUL BARRETT SIMMONS (52), author of RONALD REAGAN's 1980 campaign pitch ``Are you better off than you were four years ago?'' We could ask Mr. Simmons that. ROGER SPERRY (80), biologist. Shared the 1981 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for helping to define the function of the corpus callosum, which connects the left and right hemispheres of the brain. RON VAWTER (45), actor. Celebrated for his one-man stage show ``Roy Cohn/Jack Smith.'' Films include: ``The Silence of the Lambs,'' ``Philadelphia,'' and ``Sex, Lies, and Videotape.''
