It was not an ivory tower because they didn't like killing elephants. They would sit together and happily debate things like "the developement of the feminine in early Middle-Eastern Religion as reflexed in, and influenced by, the noun gender system of Sumerian", and "shape-shifting concepts as reflected in the mutation of Old Irish adjectives", and "climate shifts in the neolithic as counter-evidence for sun-worship: and other such FUN topics which THEY thought were all about "paganism". Then one day one of the wizards looked out of the tower's window and way way down there on the ground were people with signs saying "Pagan Religious Studies" and "Metaphysics" and things like this. And the wizard turnt to his fellow wizards and said "Oh Look! There ARE other people in the world who care about things like "The pre-requisites of initiation to qualify as an ontological integradion technique." But the other wizards just laughed at him, and said that the people were so far down there that the first wizard, who was it must be admitted a bit near-sighted, was mis-reading the signs. But he decided to try anyway and walked all the long long way down the long spiral staircase of the tower. However, when he got to the ground and sat down to rest after the long climb he found most of the signs in fact did NOT say what he thought they did. Up close they said "Picnic Games" and "Lightbukb Changing Jokes" and other such things. Mind you, all of the good wizards liked a good joke, but thought this was like eating only lemon-peach cream pastry (which they also liked very much) and that one's diet should consist largely of more substantial fare. Since he had climbed all that way down, the wizard decided at least to try and asked several people their opinion of "whether only prime numbers can be 'magic' because only they keep their identity in non-10-base numbering systems". Most of the people got mad and called the wizard a "high-brow elitist snob". Now - so OK, I admit it, the wizard is me, there are two questions the wizard would like help answering, much much more simple than quedstions about things like how the eco-system of a civilisation helpd determine its cosmology: 1) why do the people think HE (and his friend wizards up in the tower) are "bigots" because they want to talk about such things, and the people don't consider themselves equally so for scorning such topics? 2) should he climb back up the tower and he and his friends just go on as they were before he tried coming down? ___ X SLMR 2.0 X 201434369420143436942014343694201434369420143436942014343694718
