The only thing that I found to be missing from this article was an explanation of the words on the Figures arms. As best I can tell it says "Solve Coagula". Can anyone explain this? I am very interested in discovering what this means. I have the book mentioned in the article "Transcendental Magic" and also have Levi's History of Magic. I also have a copy of the 1923 edition of Pike's Morals and Dogma (no, I am NOT a freemason). Speaking of that book, I have heard that someone outside of the Freeason society is not supposed to have this book (Morals & Dogma), is there any truth in this? Be Well and Blessed be! Ben Rowe has postulated Thank you for your reply, though I will admit I am still of several minds on the issue. In James' book, it appears that Dee was given a "45 days to Enochian magick" which was extremely straight-forward and required only basic equipment such as the shew-stone, the table, and the medallions. As the system developed, the need for the ring, the banners, and all sorts of new invocations became needed. I see 2 possibilities here: 1) the angels were slowly teaching Dee and Kelly; starting with the basics and developing a full system, or 2) Dee and/or Kelly felt a need to "enhance" the system and add the trappings seen as necessary in earlier systems. Since a number of modern practitioners do not even use the table or sigil, it appears even these are unnecessary. As a practitioner, do you find that all of the physical equipment is necessary? I am also interested in your elemental attributions of the tablets and whether you choose to work with the original or the revised tables? Ben has been extremely patient in explaining both the original attributions and the GD system, as well as his own, and I am still trying to make sense of the whole morass.
