Left-hand path magicians are primarily concerned with their self-development 
and self-perfection and less concerned with transforming the world or 
attaining an ego-destroying "Nirvana."
 The term comes from Crowley's description of the "Brothers of the Left Hand" 
who shun absorption in Nuit and remain individuals.  Before that it was used 
by Blavatsky.  In certain Tantric ceremonies the female is positioned to the 
right of the male for religous ceremonies, to the left for erotic magic.  
Blavatsky didn't like erotic rituals, thus named all magic which she 
considered "evil" left-hand path magic.
