I have moved my stuff to it now... I and a few friends of mine have been working since Lughnasadh (Lammas) on a rediscovery of what Gay Spirituality means, and how to implement it in our lives. So far, we've made some rather startling discoveries. We have experienced the "hundredth monkey syndrome." Each of us in the group started out with one or more psychic talents. When the people with a particular talent began practicing it with the others present, the others soon began to "pick up" on the talent. We're not proficient at it yet, but it has been amazing to see clairvoyants practicing psychic healing, and healers practicing clairvoyancy, when neither group had practised the new talent or even considered the new talent before. It works best when more than one person practices their art. We don't know if this is limited to Gay spirituality, but it's something we've never heard about before. We've begun work on a Gay Tarot deck, using our own archetypes and our own structures. It was something that arose out of a discussion of God and Goddess archetypes, and how we related to them as Gay men. Now, instead of a Magician, we have the Heyokah. Instead of the Hierophant, we have the Preacher. So far, we have only focused on 10 cards, but already they are falling into a non-traditional structure. There are 3 cards of the Lovers, each one a different symbol specific to Gay culture. We have invited Lesbians to our groups, but, so far, none have shown up. We'd like this thing to include our sisters, but if the Universe wants us to work as men for a while, so mote it be. We are an amalgamation of several different non-Xian groups, including but not limited to Wicca, Ceremonial Magic, TOS, Thelema, and Hare Krishna. So far, the interaction has been healthy and fertile for all concerned. There, how's THAT for a Magickal slant on the subject? :) Theseus ... Drop me a card or give me a call! 201-485-6881 Anywho--Here's the basic ritual I did. Cast the circle. Call the quarters. (Note: I cast the circle with the idea of 'permanence' in my head.) Then, when you invoke the God & Goddess, invoke the God(s) and Goddess(es) whom you wish to have infuse your abode. We invoked: Jupiter (In his Good Fortune aspect) Brigid (In her Healer aspect) Kali (In her Renewing Mother aspect) Hecate (In her Guardian of Paths aspect) Then do your house blessing. I took the incenses I was burning for the four deities on an incense burner and went over each window and door saying that nothing of evil intent will cross these barriers. Once that was done, I thanked all the deities and the quarters, and dismissed them as follows: Go if you must, Stay if you will Implying that they didn't have to go, and they could feel free to stay should it suit them. Then I envisioned the circle going beyond the boundaries of the house, forming a bit of a 'protection' around the perimeter. That was it...took a lot out of me, but it was fairly short... Good luck, Lars!
