Subject: Enochian 101                           UpdReq 

So, I've read a lot about Enochian, but haven't gone past a few Calls. This 
was a few years ago. In the meantime, I put magic aside and sold my books. 
They were G. Schueler's (sp?) first two Enochian "texts." I think I bit off 
more than I could conceptually chew, never
having read anything on magic- not even a spell "cookbook." This is just a 
long way of saying I'm ready to go back to studying
and, this time, practicing some Enochian. My question is:
What are the best books, or info to start with? 
 I have a 10th grade understanding of Qabala and a
strong intuitive sense for symbology and ritual. What's your advice ?

      About Kenneth Grant, et al...Anyone out there actually "do" his stuff? 
I'd love to hear any stories or whatever. Also, has anyone corresponded with 
him or Bertiaux? What's the difference between Typhon and Satan? Isn't Grant 
just a smarter, more eclectic version of Acquino (without the accompanying 
silliness and DRAMA)? And without the fascist politics? I will say this: 
Grant makes a lot more sense to me than Acquino, more rational, and not as 
creepy or theatrical. Mere meditation on some of Grant's stuff has plugged me 
right in to some Darkness, personal though it was. I'm a hair-trigger
though. Grant seems more real to me. Like he's not dealing with "evil" so much 
as the true underside of existence. Why he wants to go there is to obtain 
what he calls "undivided consciousness." The Golden Dawn, for example, just 
stomps the Dark down, contrary to their public and published pronouncements 
of full integration thru the 'middle' way. Perhaps he's closer to Truth than 
they are?
     And, finally, anyone in Western WA area interested (or already) in 
working with some of Mr. Grant's stuff? Any info or contacts would be greatly 
appreciated.

Funny, Grant has always seemed like a complete loony to me. Aquino can be 
obnoxious but he's defineatly playing with a full deck.
